Hello all,
Linda, Charlene, Martha, and I are off to Columbia University's Teacher's College tomorrow.
I am in a 1st grade session for beginners
Linda will be in a 3-5 session for beginners
Charlene will be 3-8 session for advanced (Guided Reading, Small Groups, Progressions, and Performance Assessments)
Martha will be in 3-8 Advanced Leadership sessions (Guided Reading, Small Groups, SpEd, Assessment, Data, and Responsive Instruction)
While there, each of us will try to write our new insights, learnings, and answers to questions that we have about the Reading Units of Study. Please leave comments or questions here or feel free to email us. We will try to give get as many of the questions answered while we in NYC. Our sessions go from 8:30 am to 3:30pm everyday, so most of our evenings will be spent processing what we learned and trying to figure out the best way to share this with all of Springdale Schools.

My morning sessions will be with Brook Geller on Using a Series of Guided Reading Groups and Small Group Instruction to Accelerate Students' Progress (3-8) and my afternoon sessions will be with Janet Steinberg Supporting Kids with IEP's: Assessment, Data and Responsive Instruction (3-8). The after Choice Session that I will choose to attend is Audra Robb's Reader's Notebooks in Middle School: Making These Matter without Killing Reading.
